Trends are cyclic, even my cat knows it. Fashion is like a crazy time machine that sends people back to the 90’s and then straight to the future in less than a season.
That’s great, but also kinda disorienting.
Last year we talked about broken hearts with Brenda Walsh, then walked in a feminist parade in the 70’s and we’re now asked for a glamorous dance by Grace Jones.
We’re not saying every trend is meant to be embraced, but when it comes to glitters and lurex, it’s hard to say no.
The last time I saw so many shine&bright-like-a-diamond looks on the catwalks was on Fall 2012, exception for Miu Miu that always adds a little sparkle here and there.
This fall, many designers choose to convert to glitterism, lurexism or shimmerism. From Gucci to Alexander Wang, from Christian Dior to Bottega Veneta, from Christopher Kane to Nina Ricci,
there are only few that haven’t been touched by this brilliant light.
What do you think? Yay or nay?
